Kitchen Design Process

Every kitchen project begins with understanding the existing space. We take detailed measurements, review structural elements, and evaluate how the current layout functions. Appliance locations, traffic flow, and storage limitations are all assessed before any design decisions are made. This groundwork ensures the new layout is based on accurate information, not assumptions

Once the space is documented, we develop a revised layout that improves workflow and function. Cabinet configurations are mapped carefully, including drawer bases, pantry storage, and specialty inserts where needed. Island size, seating placement, and clearances are reviewed to meet code and comfort. The goal is a layout that works practically while remaining proportionate to the room and aligned with your budget.

Cabinetry & Material Selections

Cabinetry is specified based on construction type, door style, finish, and storage needs. We review framed, inset, or frameless options depending on the project goals. Hardware placement, crown details, and interior accessories are decided early so the final order is complete and coordinated.

Material selections are made in context, not in isolation. Countertops, backsplash tile, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and paint colors are reviewed together. Samples are evaluated in your lighting conditions whenever possible. This process prevents mismatched undertones and scale issues, helping the finished kitchen feel cohesive rather than assembled from separate decisions.

Documentation And Build Coordination

Documentation
& Build Coordination

Clear documentation supports a smoother build. We provide cabinet layouts, appliance specifications, and finish schedules that contractors can reference during construction. Dimensions, elevations, and material details are outlined so expectations are established before installation begins.

During construction, we remain available to answer questions and review any field adjustments that may arise. While we are not the general contractor, we help clarify design intent when needed. A well-developed plan minimizes mid-project changes and helps keep the kitchen aligned with the decisions made at the start.
